WHY CHOOSE THE TREADMILL?

 Aquatic Treadmill

The Aquatic Treadmill is an extremely effective method of K9 hydrotherapy. There are several reasons for this. Firstly the treadmill allows the hydrotherapist to target specific joints by increasing or decreasing the level of water. The level of the water also impacts the buoyancy of the dog, allowing control over the amount of weight placed on the joints. As the joint becomes stronger and able to bear more weight, the water level and treadmill speed are altered accordingly. Our treadmill also features an optional incline, this again allows more specific areas to be targeted and worked on. The treadmill is excellent for dogs who are hydrophobic and for dogs who like the water but also like to have their paws touch the bottom! It is also better for dogs who swallow a lot of water whilst swimming as this can induce vomiting and for dogs who don't like water in their ears or face. In our experience nervous dogs often find the treadmill less intimidating than the pool.
